Essay:
As the flames licked the edges of the old farmhouse, casting eerie shadows across the fields, I stood frozen, watching the only home I had ever known succumb to a fiery demise. It was amidst this chaos, with the sound of crackling timber and the cries of distant sirens piercing the night, that I realised it was my responsibility. Not just to save the remnants of my past but to forge a path forward for those who depended on me.
The fire had started suddenly, a cruel twist of fate on a night that had begun with celebration. The community had gathered at our farm to mark the end of harvest season, unaware that our world was about to be engulfed in flames. As I sprinted towards the water pump, my thoughts raced back to the people inside. My family, our friends, the workers who had become as close as kin—they all trusted me, and I could not let them down.
